It’s not too common for children to truly know what they’ll do with their lives, but Ben Frey found his path early on. It was as a middle school youth in Atlanta, Georgia he discovered his love of our country’s legal system. Like many do while stuck in big city traffic, Ben listened to talk radio regularly. He homed in on a show called Handel on the Law hosted by Bill Handel out of Los Angeles. You might say it was the “Dr Laura” of legal matters radio broadcasting. It was while listening to this call-in help show Ben got hooked on the law and wanted to be an attorney. He later moved to Oxford where he obtained his law degree from the University of Mississippi. Eventually, not interested in living in larger cities, he made his way to Alaska in 2014. He found a wife in Seward and set down roots.
It was during his time in Oxford and for years now in Alaska that Ben developed a hard-working, honest, blue collar approach to his legal practice. Having joined the Alaska Bar Association in 2016, Ben began practicing law in The Last Frontier shortly after, serving clients from nearly every town on the Kenai Peninsula, in Anchorage too, rural locations, and even a fair number of out-of-state clients with land or other interests in Alaska.
Ben learned early on that there was a lack of affordable legal services on the Kenai Peninsula. Legal organizations and attorneys seemed to exists to help only the wealthiest among us. It has thus been Ben’s goal to keep prices reasonable, and to provide affordable legal services here on the Kenai Peninsula. And he does this while providing a blue collar work ethic.
